The New Zealand Soap Makers’ Association was founded in 2019 by Shaz Davis and Jackie Ziegler who were looking to promote the handmade soap industry in New Zealand and offer kiwi soap makers a way to connect and network. Even in its first year, the association rose to over 100 members and is continue to grow, showing that locally produced handcrafted products are in demand with consumers in New Zealand.

Debbie has only been soaping for a couple of years, she loves checking out different techniques and recipe’s online. Debbie has found that years of working in administration have come in really handy in her role with us first as Secretary, then as taking over as Chair from Jackie at the 2023 AGM

Stacey is our new Secretary taking over from Debbie after the 2023 AGM. She runs her own successful soap making business and she also has a full time job. Stacey had been on our Committee for several years before putting her hand up to help us out with the running of NZSMA

Founder of In My Soap Pot and DIY Box. Jackie has been making soap for over 30 years and has been teaching soap making to community education, schools and private companies for the last 15 years.
